Successful Business Team Leadership - How to Manage a Successful Business Team

Successful business leadership is crucial to growing your company. A strong business team will make your job easier and get more tasks done in a substantially less amount of time. Taking time to invest yourself and your visions into your team may take some time, but will yield a far more productive and on track team.

"The corporate ladder", We have all heard that phrase before and far too often the concept, either consciously or sub-consciously, comes into how we view our work associates. This can be one of the most destructive mindsets you can have in leading a business team. Thinking that just because you are the boss or you have been at the company longer makes you better and superior to others can have damaging effects. While there is some credibility to the position of "boss" or "team leader" there are a few guidelines you should follow to bring out the best in your business team.

One -- Throw the ladder idea out the window. Just because you are on a higher step than others, do not act like they are second best to you. You need to think of every one as being on the same level.

A "circle" approach can be a much better mind set and be far more productive. The concept of each person being on the same plain and having the same status can bring out everyone's best performance.

The new guy that started two months ago may not have the experience, but may have some different angles or ideas that need to be considered. A mind that has not had the corporate influence for too long can be a huge advantage. Always listen to them, you do not have to accept their idea, but a few minutes to listen and consider their idea will make them feel much more apart of the business team and much more likely to contribute throughout the whole project.

Two -- Involve everyone. Do not leave anyone outside the "circle". Give each person something. It may not be a huge part, but at least they will be able to see exactly where they contributed to this project. This will go a long way in both the present situation and make people much more likely to contribute more in the future.

You can establish numerous people who will be willing to participate and contribute to projects or assignments in your company, because they will remember that in the past when their ideas where considered and they felt like a vital part of the business team. Having this backbone in a company can produce quick and productive results. Depending on what type of business you have, this can make you more valuable to clients if you are a client based business or it make your company reach targets and levels of growth you never thought possible.
